Wax images of monks. They look so real that is
kind of scary to look at them. They seem like
they’re gonna move all of a sudden

We made a hotel reservation for two days but we really liked the city and decided to stay two more days. Our hostel is full, so we have to go to another one…and how do we best move there? By bike of course, with our big backpacks!
The next day we continue our temple tour and visit the impressive Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which looks over the city. Everything is golden here, it’s so luxurious that the Buddha wouldn’t probably like it!
Thais are crazy about baby bouddhas and baby monks statues…and you can find them everywhere. And they are indeed very cute!
We found a very nice and delicious local food market, in the plaza of a big shopping mall and decide to eat here. Everything is delicious but often very spicy!
Grilled small bananas. Yummy!

On our last night we met our chilean friends from Ko Lanta again (they have pretty much the same itinerary as we, so we will probably be meeting them at other places too). We went for dinner and shopping at the famous Chiang Mai night market. Yoga trousers are really cheap and good here, so we got about 4 of them….then realizing that we have to carry them! And our backpacks are getting heavy! Aprox 19 kg each!
